Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I find the Historical Society and Archives Center?

A: The Historical Society is located in the MTM Center, the former Marion T. Morse School. If you are approaching from the south on Rt. 196 (Lisbon Road), after passing the light in town, you will continue to the next main intersection, turning right onto School Street. A short distance on the left will be the MTM Center, just after the United Methodist Church. The entrance to the Historical Society is in the back of the building. Parking is available behind the Methodist Church, turn left at the church onto Barry Ave. for parking. You will find the entrance clearly marked.

If you are approaching from Lewiston and the north, you will pass a shopping area and soon arrive at the School Street intersection where  you will turn left. Follow the directions on School Street as described above.

Q: If I cannot come to the Historical Society and Archives during the regular hours on Thursday, can I visit at other times?

A: Yes. Call Dorothy or Al Smith at (207) 353-8510.  They will be glad to make an appointment with you.
